Using ReView

In ReView, reports are designed as three-tier objects consisting of the database layer, business logic and a presentation layer. The main advantage is the possibility to reuse the business logic for a number of different purposes and reporting requirements. The basis is still one or several databases, but data collection and the business logic have been separated into an independent object called Component.

The component retrieves data from one or more sources for further processing and calculations. One of the cost saving advantages is the reuse of the component when several users need the same data but with different lay-out and language requirements, directly available at their desk tops.
